I own a Yamaha Verago that cut out & bucked on one cylinder when cold. Much later it started cutting out intermittently. Then much later, cut out almost all the time. At this point I sought help and found that my trouble was the igniter (CDI---computer). There were hair line fractures in the solder connections on the circuit board. One needed a microscope to see these.
A new computer costs $450, but I found a repair man to re-solder for $80. Now it runs just fine.
This was a typical problem in '83 Viragos. I have never heard of this problem on a LS 650 Savage.
